# How Prediction Works

## How to Use Prediction

Playing SailFish’s Prediction lets you test your foresight to earn rewards. Use your market knowledge or gut feeling to predict if the EDU/USDC price will go up or down in the near future. Get it right and you’ll collect a share of the round’s prize pool!

> **Note:** SailFish Prediction is in beta. Future updates may improve the experience, and the SailFish team will inform users of any changes.

## Accepting Terms of the Beta

Before using Prediction, review and accept the beta terms.

Visit the SailFish Prediction page. A **"Welcome!"** window will appear explaining the beta status.

![Address modal](https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/51efc2c7-3e2b-4260-b49f-166b92b47540)

Read and accept the conditions, then click **Continue**.

## Making a Prediction for the Next Round

Prediction operates in **5-minute rounds**. Place your prediction before the round starts.

### Checking the Timer

Check the timer in the top-right corner.

Ensure you have at least **30 seconds** before making a prediction to allow time for confirmation.

### Placing Your Prediction

1. In the "Next" section, click **Enter UP** if you predict the price will rise, or **Enter DOWN** if you predict a drop.
